Wiesnbrezel, German for “giant pretzel,” are one of Oktoberfest’s most iconic snacks. In 2015, a bakery in El Salvador baked one that measured over 29 feet and weighed in at 1,728 pounds.

Despite its name, Oktoberfest, a two-week-long autumnal celebration of Bavarian cuisine, beer, and culture, takes place mostly in September. It starts on the first Saturday on or after September 15th and runs to the first Sunday in October.
