The Blair Witch Project (1999) was written and directed by Daniel Myrick and Eduardo SΓ‘nchez. In it, three student filmmakers, Heather, Mike, and Josh, hike into the Maryland woods to make a documentary about a local legend, the Blair Witch. They vanish, and the film presents itself as the footage recovered a year later. The actors largely improvised, shooting the movie themselves while the directors guided them. It was made for ~$60,000 and grossed ~$250 million worldwide, making it one of the most profitable films ever. I kind of hated this movie at the time, but I think I owe it another watch.

Theme: Scary movie season
Scary movie season is upon us! π» I'm not much of a fan of horror movies, as I get grossed out pretty easily. But I try to see a few every year. This year I finally caught up with The Thing, which was, as everyone said it was, phenomenal. Here are a few spooky movies that I like, and a few others that I've been meaning to catch up with.
